Mike Tyson, Who Had a Gay Sister, Responds to Lil Nas Xs Anti-Gay Question

Former world heavyweight champion, Mike Tyson, is one of the most iconic voices in the world of sports. And there is no denying that his opinions surely leave an impact on his posse of supporters. Taking the same into consideration, rapper Lil Nas X asked Tyson about his thoughts on homosexuality.

Nas was a guest on the ‘Hotboxin with Mike Tyson‘ podcast hosted by Tyson himself. Moreover, DJ Whoo Kidd was also present as the co-host for the episode. In conversation, Nas asked Tyson, “Were you ever like anti-gay people? Coming from the 90s.”

Tyson responded by saying, “I talked to some of the great fighters that were gay. But I’m just saying, from my ignorance, I said sh*t, you know. I have friends, have gay people in my family, gay sister. It’s just the way we live our life. We love each other. We fight each other. Die for each other.”

Nas further asked Tyson if everything was off limits if he was in an argument with a gay person. And if he was ‘coming at their life’. Tyson responded by saying, “I’m coming at everybody’s life. Straight, gay, bifocal. I mean it’s coming at everybody.”

‘Iron’ Mike also mentioned that things were a lot different back in the 90s.

Mike Tyson confronts Boosie Badazz for his homophobia

Rapper Boosie Badazz was a guest on Mike Tyson’s podcast. Boosie had previously made remarks about NBA star Dwyane Wade’s support for his transgender daughter, Zaya Wade. He had also made homophobic remarks about Lil Nas X.

And Tyson was quick to confront him about the same. Talking from experience, Tyson drew parallels with his own past. He said, “I always wanted to die. I wanted to kill myself. But, I couldn’t kill myself, so I had to deal with who I am. So I got to change myself, I got to find out who I am.”

Tyson further mentioned that he started questioning himself about the comments he made about certain people. And that it was a painful path of self-realization.
